The Adventure Continues

The day I arrived at Disney’s Contemporary Resort was exhilarating and fun. That day I began to discover what my role at The Walt Disney Company entailed and what it actually looked like. I remember being greeted by trainers and going into our morning cast meeting (breakout) sharing who my favorite Disney character was (Stitch), what my favorite Disney movie was (The Lion King), and what my favorite Walt Disney World theme park was (Magic Kingdom). Now we fast forward to today and I am going into my last breakout and clocking out for the last time. My time at the Contemporary has come to an end.

On Sunday, June 11th I begin my Management Internship at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort. I am definitely excited for this opportunity and that it is already starting. First, as with anything at Disney, I must go through a bunch of training. I have class on Sunday and then I am away for three days for my brother’s graduation. Congratulations, Noah! Once I return, I will be right back to the grind learning my new role. A role like this could help propel me into the next big chapter of my career in the company. Looking forward to learning, inspiring, and being a part of the operation in this way.

We have drill coming up in July, but I was able to make up those days early and will remain in Florida until August. My contract with the Marines is coming to an end in October. Hard to believe it has already been six years since I joined. I’ve hated a lot of minutes of my time, but I’ve loved most every minute I’ve been a part of the United States Marine Corps. I’ve always had intentions on staying in and re-enlisting, so that looks like the plan. The Marines Corps has helped shape me into who I am today, and I am proud to say I am a Marine. Other than my contract coming to an end there is nothing exciting going on. I went to Morocco, but those who read these already know that.

In order to celebrate a new chapter of my time at Walt Disney World, I’m going to visit Pandora – The World of Avatar again tomorrow! I have not seen it at night so I am particularly excited about that.

Well, that’s about it. This was just a quick update marking the start of a new adventure. Next update will probably be crazy long and boring. Until next time: Be strong. Love God. Love others.
