This Ain’t No Joke

Life. It’s incredible to think that we were each created with a purpose in this timeline of history. We’ve made history, we’re making history, we’ve got big things coming to create history. Never give up on all life has to offer. Trust me, there are good times and bad, but God has a purpose for it all. I am thankful for all the experiences I’ve been through (good and bad). I’ve been taught so much through God’s Word and the trials of life. It is good to know that I am a child of the King and there is hope in all things.

So this journey through the Walt Disney Company has been real, but I am only getting started (sorta). Just ten months ago I walked into Disney University and learned about the company in a class known as Traditions. Six months later I became a Disney Trainer at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Nine months after Traditions I was honored with being selected as a Line of Business Core Facilitator (we pretty much work at Disney University welcoming cast members and teaching them about the recreation field).

Now at ten months I am very excited to announce that I have been offered a position as a Management Intern in lodging. I will be on the custodial team and calling Yacht and Beach Club home in mid-June. This ain’t no joke! The internship will give me great back-end operations experience as well as Disney leadership experience in a totally new line of business. I am excited for this learning opportunity and the ability to inspire cast members to perform their roles with excellence and enthusiasm. Praise the Lord for another adventure!

I mentioned auditioning for a Line of Business Facilitator position. The audition required us to memorize a script and recall two stories of how we were able to create a memorable experience for a Guest and how cast members created magic for me. I dressed to impress, walked in there with confidence, and recited the whole thing. I got a callback about ten days later where I learned my “crutch word” is the word “right”. Very interesting. . . You can read a bit more on this in my previous post called March Madness.

We continue to prepare for our specialized AT coming up. Looking forward to some good training! Unfortunately I will not be able to communicate for a few weeks, so if you need me. . . I don’t know what to tell you.
Had some Lanier brothers (society from college) come down and visit. That was a blast! It was a long, tiring day, but we had a great time doing all kinds of things. The best part was going to ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. That was my best visit yet! We had the singer coming up to us and treating us like real family. She sang the “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” song and got us all involved. She was just as excited as we were. The service and food was most excellent this time around. We also had a great view at the window! This was the best experience of the five times (yeah, I probably have a problem) I’ve been there. I highly recommend you go!

God is too good to me, ya’ll. I am thankful for His grace, and I am thankful to all you praying folks. Please continue to pray. You can definitely pray for the Disney journey, but also pray for safety as we (the marines) train in the coming weeks. Still not getting Sundays off, but that could change come June! Thank you praying people. Thank you reading people. To God be the glory great things He has done. Until next time: Be strong. Love God. Love others.
