The Day of Inspiration

Had Facebook not notified me, I would not have known that today is a fairly significant day. It was on this day in 2016 that I visited Walt Disney World for the first time on a solo trip. This solo trip sparked the idea of one day being a part of The Walt Disney Company. Spoiler Alert: I ended up working for Disney. You can read about it in one of my previous posts: The Wild Ride Continues.

I am currently on a Military Leave of Absence from Disney as I fulfill my deployment orders. It is my intent to return to Florida and Walt Disney World at the end of the summer. Looking forward to it. As I think about the opportunities with The Walt Disney Company (TWDC), I get pretty stoked about working toward career goals with the company. It may very well be the company I retire from on the civilian side. If that’s the case, I need to make my presence in Florida a little more permanent. So with that, I am going to start looking for a house to buy and make my home. As a homeowner, I can have more people come visit and stay with me, so all you people out there remember that. Come visit.

The Honduras life has been pretty uneventful. Work has been steady. For whatever reason it was really cold for nearly two weeks about a week ago. Cold here was about 52 degrees (a delight for some in the states), but in comparison to the usual 80 degrees it was cold. There is this place out in town that serves the best steak. No joke. If anyone wants to dispute that statement then I am prepared to argue my position on the matter. There is a pool here so I have been able to do swim workouts pretty regularly (except when it was cold). I have an Apple Watch Series 2 so I am able to track my swim workouts with it. Very handy!

The days and weeks don’t pass by very quickly here, but ironically time flies. We do a lot of planning ahead, and as we put dates together we get closer to the point that we are just waiting to execute those plans. We’ll be home before we know it! I have already warned you all about the mail taking 3-6 weeks to arrive, but so far it’s looking like mail is taking all six weeks to get here. With that, don’t send me anything after May 1st.

Just wanted to touch base and share the day that started my new adventure. Before I go, I need to let you all know that we have a native cat that has lived here for years and is called Mama Cat. I absolutely detest cats, but Mama Cat is family now so I just video her on the Snapchat. Prepare yourselves for a compilation video of photos and videos from his deployment.

Mama Cat

Thank you to all those who are praying and following along. It’s been a wild ride, but the adventure never ends. God is awesome in how He puts opportunities, struggles, and life-changing events in our lives. Looking forward to more adventure and using my talents for Him. Until next time: Be strong. Love God. Love others.
