The new year has arrived and twenty days from now will mark one year since my bootcamp graduation. I am continually amazed by God’s grace, guidance, and direction in my life. Often I wonder where I would be had I chosen not to follow Him. What would my life have been if my heart chose not to believe in Christ? Not to believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ to cleanse me of all sin and guarantee a place in Heaven? Who would I be?
A monster. I would have no control over my actions. I would probably have a stack of Page 11s every weekend. I would probably have been completely wasted last night. I would have been that guy. That guy who hears the stories. That guy who rejects the truth. That guy who mocks the things of God. A fool. The typical fool found in Proverbs who takes no responsibility for his actions. But I have been saved by God in His mercy.
So who am I?
I am a Christian- saved by God’s grace.
I am a Marine- protected by God’s hand.
I am a Servant- following the example of God’s Son.
I am a Warrior- fighting evil through the power of God’s might.
I am Imperfect- made whole again by God’s Son, Jesus Christ.
To God be the glory- the great I Am.
To God be the glory
rejoice.always
