The journey has been long and the result rewarding. Yes, you read the title correctly, folks. As of February 24, 2021 I can officially say that I am debt free! I started my debt free journey a while ago, but it wasn’t until last year that I buckled down and came up with a solid plan to complete this debt free journey. Originally my math worked out to where I would be debt free by April/May 2021. After making additional lifestyle changes I was able to intensify my efforts and pay off my total debt balance early. What a journey it has been!
It was in last month’s post that I mentioned being unsure if I could pay off my final balance in February. Thankfully my tax return came through and I was able to use a portion of that return to make my last student loan payment of $741.
Total Balance: $0.00
Budget, behavior, and intentionality really makes a difference. Creating a budget is key to ensuring each dollar has a place to be every month. Changing behavior to appropriately reflect the budget is tough yet necessary. Consistently being reminded of the intent behind the journey helps to keep on keeping on. There is light at the end of the tunnel!
I’m a knucklehead, but thanks be to God for seeing me through even when a pandemic hit. My debt free journey is over, but my financial journey continues as I maintain intentionality. I am no financial professional, but my desire is to inspire others to stay the course and believe their is hope. You can do it!
Be strong. Love God. Love others.
Congrats
